This is a great guide to music theory 101. The lessons follow logically and the information is well set out and comprehensive. A minor downside - I find that the book doesn't include extensive exercises for practicing the theory, so I have supplemented it with activities, flashcards and other materials I found online. Otherwise, the book is a great place to start and finding free online material to cement the lessons is very easy.
