Gemini 1 is a 12″ full range digital amplified speaker cabinet with integrated studio quality USB audio interface for use with modelers and software based guitar systems.

Mission EmPower Technology™ features multi-channel class D power amplifiers, active crossovers with variable EQ, and full range co-axial drivers, all designed from the ground up to work together as the perfect amplification solution for modeling systems. Gemini 1 features a 110W internal amplifier, 12″ low frequency driver, and 1″ coaxial high frequency driver providing a frequency range from 57Hz – 20KHz. Pro-audio ¼” jack and XLR connectors, USB, and optional stereo Bluetooth wireless interfaces connect Gemini amps directly with software based guitar systems on computers, tablets and smartphones, as well as dedicated guitar processors.

The studio quality onboard digital audio interface features bit perfect class 2 stereo audio with, selectable sampling rates up to 192KHz and 24bit. This allows you to play and record directly into your PC or Mac without any additional hardware. The EmPower EQ control allows blending between a flat or a more traditional guitar cab frequency response. Gemini can be used as a flat frequency response power amp and speaker, or as an onstage monitor with a more traditional guitar cab frequency response. Full range flat response (FRFR) systems can often sound harsh and brittle when used as a monitor compared to a traditional tube amp. Empower allows you to dial in just the right blend depending on your application. Gemini can also be miked up like a traditional speaker cab.

Sophisticated connectivity supports a multitude of different input and output options via Combo XLR-/1/4″ jack, and USB inputs. With a single Gemini 1, stereo inputs are summed into a mono signal and output through the internal speaker drivers. Add a second Gemini 1, and PresenceDetect automatically determines the master/slave configuration and routes the stereo signals to the appropriate left and right Gemini units. Multiple inputs are mixed so you can connect a guitar and a USB device simultaneously to play along with a recording.

Gemini’s advanced power system provides a number of benefits not found in traditional guitar amplifiers. 100 – 240 input voltage and 50/60 Hz compatibility means you can use Gemini almost anywhere in the world without requiring heavy and expensive transformers. Just connect directly to wall power wherever you are with a suitable cable. Power saving features such as a high efficiency power supply and deep sleep modes for internal components mean Mission Gemini’s use a fraction of the power of a regular amp, costing less to run, and wasting less energy. The included V-Lock power cable ensures the power is correctly connected, and protects against the cable being accidentally pulled out.

The Gemini 1 will grace any stage or studio. Each cabinet is hand made from 3/4″ void free, baltic birch with a high quality black Tolex covering, black basket weave acoustic speaker covering, and chrome hardware. Guitarists using a rack mount guitar processors such as the Fractal Audio-Axe-FX, Avid Eleven Rack, or Pod HD PRO can use the Gemini H 19″ rack head and build the perfect modeling half stack.

The Mission Gemini 1 is made in California, USA, and features a two year manufacturers warranty.

a really good choice for guitar modelers as an FRFR solution
Written by sean on 19th May 2015

I ordered this recently to take better advantage of my AXFX2. I had been using 6" studio monitors prior and while this was ok, it was not a possibility to gig or jam and to be honest they did sound a little boxy. When the Gemini 1 arrived, it was a revelation. It sounds and importantly feels like a guitar amp (when used with a decent modeler device such as the AXFX). You have a much better low end response and thump and it looks like a cab. I prefer this form factor over the CLR wedge style. The Gemini is also LOUD! They are rated at 110W and I was a little concerned as its a solid state amp... Don't worry... It's more than suitable for a gig and will easily compete with a drummer. You also have the nice extras such as the USB connector so you could use as an interface (kind of redundant these days but still a nice touch) as well as the on board Cab Modeling. I have no need for either feature but they are there and both useable. What is great is the universal power supply. 100 to 240v for both 50 and 60hz. Great!!! The only downsides: The controls (including power on/off) are in the back. Stupid place for them. Put them on the front or the top (even the side) so they are accessible. At louder volumes (say above 1/ 3) there is an audible him coming from the amp. It's your typical ground loop AC hum and nothing more than an annoyance but when the control are on the back and you want to turn off/down, the noise and the abatement of it, is a pain.

The Gemini 1 sounds fantastic, it has a great wide frfr sound, the highs and lows are really well balanced and fills my stage area, the110w is plenty of power to keep up to my classic rock band live. The Gemini 1 is light, high quality and has that real traditional cab look and feel about it compared to my heavy FRFR speaker that I had. The Empower technology being able to blend between frfr and cab has given me more tone options also the rear usb is really useful to be able to connect to my pc and use as a sound card. The gemini 1 is the best speaker solution I have come across for my AXEFX 11. I highly recommend the Gemini 1. and a big thanks to Independent Music for there great service.
