  1. Very realistic sound and feel - Highly reccomended 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Mar 2019

I have had the pedal for a week now and have used it at home and at band practice and, even though I have not had a lot of time to set up my sounds, this unit has been impressive. The sound, response and feel are all but the same as my actual valve amps, but I now have the advantage of not having to carry heavy amps & Cabs to gigs. I have run it through my 4x12 Laney cab via the power section of an amp and it sounded great, through the PA speakers it sounded great.

If you use headphones you will need to play with the presets to get the sound to warm up as they tend to make the sound a bit direct or harsh, as I use in ear monitors I set up some basic sounds at home with the IEMs direct in the headphone jack and when I played at band practice it sounded great in the IEM & PA.

The quality of the effects are also top rate, easily comparable to any pedal I have used in the past, TC electronic, boss, exotic etc.

Highly recommend this for the quality and price. Just be aware that to get the most out of it you will need to tweak or create your own presets and 3rd party IRs are definitely worth looking into for more variation in sounds.

Independent Music are also really easy to deal with with very quick deliver. Thanks guys :)

  2. Amazing unit. Probably the best sounding unit I have heard 5 Star Review

I have tried the Line 6 Helix & the Axe FX 2, & even though they have more features, I reckon the Amplifier sounds better as a modelling unit, & at half the price, you cannot go wrong The build quality is very solid & the simplicity of the unit & the effects are amazing. I looks like Atomic have focused heavily on the sound quality of the amps, & the dynamics of the sounds are simply mind blowing. I highly recommend this unit, you won't be disappointed. Independent music ships really fast which is a bonus. A huge winner.

  3. Fantastic Sounds 5 Star Review

I got this last week after seeing lots of reviews on the 'net about the original AmpliFire. First night I used headphones and it sounded OK but I thought there would be a lot of work to do to get it to sound like it does in the reviews I had seen. Next night I used it at rehearsal through our PA and my 12" monitor. Amazing!!! I just worked my way through the factory patches and it sounds absolutely fantastic. You can tweak it using the knobs and buttons, or plug it into your PC and tweak from there, or download patches from the 'net. You can a heap of free ones from the Atomic website. Most fo the factory sounds are a bit too heavy for me, but it is easy to back it off and it actually cleans up like a real amp would.
I used a Fender Mustang modelling amp for ages which a I recently replaced with a brand new $4,500 Boogie thinking I should really use a real amp. Well I am not all that pleased with the Boogie as it is a bit limiting in versatility. The AmpliFire is very versatile, and the 12 buttons make it very very easy to set up and use multiple patches to get a lot of gig friendly usable variety.
Lots of programming to do now to set it up for my band. It is fun.
