  1. Amazing unit. Probably the best sounding unit I have heard 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Apr 2017

I have tried the Line 6 Helix & the Axe FX 2, & even though they have more features, I reckon the Amplifier sounds better as a modelling unit, & at half the price, you cannot go wrong The build quality is very solid & the simplicity of the unit & the effects are amazing. I looks like Atomic have focused heavily on the sound quality of the amps, & the dynamics of the sounds are simply mind blowing. I highly recommend this unit, you won't be disappointed. Independent music ships really fast which is a bonus. A huge winner.

  2. Fantastic Sounds 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Jan 2017

I got this last week after seeing lots of reviews on the 'net about the original AmpliFire. First night I used headphones and it sounded OK but I thought there would be a lot of work to do to get it to sound like it does in the reviews I had seen. Next night I used it at rehearsal through our PA and my 12" monitor. Amazing!!! I just worked my way through the factory patches and it sounds absolutely fantastic. You can tweak it using the knobs and buttons, or plug it into your PC and tweak from there, or download patches from the 'net. You can a heap of free ones from the Atomic website. Most fo the factory sounds are a bit too heavy for me, but it is easy to back it off and it actually cleans up like a real amp would.
I used a Fender Mustang modelling amp for ages which a I recently replaced with a brand new $4,500 Boogie thinking I should really use a real amp. Well I am not all that pleased with the Boogie as it is a bit limiting in versatility. The AmpliFire is very versatile, and the 12 buttons make it very very easy to set up and use multiple patches to get a lot of gig friendly usable variety.
Lots of programming to do now to set it up for my band. It is fun.
